Strawberry Steak Salad

The perfect recipe for summer.


  • 2 lbs Skirt steak (flank steak or flap meat works also)
  • ΒΌ cup of this dry rub
  • baby romaine
  • strawberries sliced
  • candied pecans
  • goat cheese to top
  • balsamic dressing


For the steak:

  1. Heat a gas grill with all burners on high, or prepare a charcoal grill for high heat.
  2. Sprinkle a generous amount of rub on both sides of the meat and let sit at least 15 minutes while the grill heats.
  3. Grill the meat quickly, no more than 3-4 minutes per side for medium rare. (Less for very thin pieces, more for flank steak, which will be thicker.)
  4. Slice the steak across into 1/2 inch wide strips.

For the salad:

  1. In a large serving bowl, toss the romaine, strawberries, and candied pecans. Top with steak, sprinkle with goat cheese, and drizzle with balsamic dressing and serve.
