Much to my husband’s dismay, I dress up Levon every year for Easter. “Why are you dressing him up? He’s not a doll.” Obviously, his objections do not deter me. I happily participated in raising our older sons Jewish, so the as far as I’m concerned, the world owes me Easter outfits and jelly beans for the foreseeable future. I’m not a boy mom who wishes she had a girl so she could dress up her daughter. I’m a boy mom who loves boys and also loves clothes and is going to delight in dressing my child, regardless of gender, for as long as he will let me.

A family member was recently surprised to learn that I shop for kids clothes almost exclusively at Target and Old Navy. I also hit up Kohl’s when we’re in Tucson, since there’s one close to our home. My general philosophy when it comes to holiday outfits is “Janie and Jack Lookbook For Less.” I love preppy holiday looks for kids but hesitate to spend too much since Levon rarely wears the outfit more than twice. I occasionally splurge for certain pieces (like this jacket) and mix them with affordable basics, but for the most part, I go as cheap as I can.
